Lake Drive Renovated Tudor

4 Bedrooms / 2 Full & 1 Half Bath

Four bedrooms on Lake Drive near Belleview.

by Pamela Williams

There is so much to like about this four bedroom, three (two full) bathroom Tudor Revival on Lake and Belleview in the Northpoint neighborhood. The historic home was built in 1926 for Mrs. Hazel McKey, the wife of noted philanthropist and manufacturing partner Douglas McKey. She had the house built after her husband died suddenly at the age of 33. Hazel raised two children in the home, and continued to live here until she passed way in 1976.

I love a home with history, and old and new is beautifully blended in this one. The kitchen was recently upgraded to a very modern chef's kitchen complete with a Wolf stove. The fireplace and woodwork in the home give it an old world feel. There are also two full bathrooms on the second floor that have both been nicely updated. A lovely sunroom overlooks the backyard as well.

The location is great, too. This part of Lake Drive is walking distance to Lake Park and Downer Avenue. For many years, this home was part of the Northpoint Walking Tour and it was always noted that it has one of the best locations of any home on the tour.
