The AT Holbrook Residence

7 Bedrooms / 6 Bathrooms

Seven-bedroom early 1900s home of Dr. A.T. Holbrook.

This fascinating early 1900s home on MKE's eastside has been for sale for a long time. We were lucky enough to take a tour last summer and finally have it on our site. It was, and could be, again, an incredible home.

The location is Marietta and Kenwood, just west of the Lake Drive/Lincoln Memorial/Kenwood intersection. There are some beautiful, old homes that line Kenwood between Lake Drive and UWM and this might be the grandest of all. It sits on a large lot that includes a huge carriage house and a very large side yard.

This home was originally built for Arthur T and Bertha Holbrook in 1908 in the Arts and Crafts style. Arthur was a physician in Milwaukee; Bertha was from Lombard, IL. It's had a lot of work done to it over the years and has some interesting upgrades. It's seven bedrooms and almost 7500 square feet. The dining room, living room and kitchen take up most of the first floor and the living room and dining room open up to the potentially amazing side yard. Meanwhile, there's a huge carriage house that is a separate apartment and a large garage.

We really hope that someone can love this place and return it to glory. It's currently owned by Waterstone Bank in Wauwatosa, after being foreclosed in 2015. It's priced too high to have flipping potential (in our opinion), so it sits awaiting someone to love it. Check out the link to Coldwell Banker's site for the photos and some details.
